Foot Treatments

Why do I need a Treatment?

Our feet are a complex system of bones, muscles and ligaments which when kept in good condition function in total harmony with one another and importantly with the rest of the body. Unfortunately it is easy to neglect our feet which may lead to pain and discomfort. Alternatively incorrect foot function can lead to problems elsewhere in the body e.g. knee/back pain.

What will happen during the Treatment?

At Prestige Private Medical a state registered podiatrist will thoroughly examine both your feet. He will then be able to identify and advise you on any treatments required.

What does the Treatment involve?

We start with a complete nail treatment removing excess nail and filing away any rough edges. Next we will remove any hard skin, calluses, corns, etc,. The podiatrist will also be able to advise you on how to care for your feet between appointments.

Orthotics

Orthoses are medical devices which are inserted into shoes or sports shoes. The function of an orthotic is to stabilise foot function and control excessive motions of the foot and aiding in a more efficient gait.

At Prestige Private Medical, orthoses are custom made and prescribed to the patient’s individual foot type. A Plaster of Paris mould is taken of the patient’s foot and orthoses are made from the latest Cad Cam Technology. At Prestige Private Medical, we offer a wide variety of orthotic devices to accommodate the various types of shoe wear.

Simple insoles and “over the counter” orthoses are also available on request. Ankle Foot Orthoses and Ankle Splints are also provided.
